Ingredients

For the Wontons:

1 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 cup ground pork

2 green onions, finely chopped

1 tablespoon ginger, minced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Wonton wrappers (approximately 24)

For the Broth:

6 cups chicken or vegetable broth

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon ginger, grated

1 teaspoon garlic, minced

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

1 cup bok choy, chopped

Fresh cilantro for garnish

1 teaspoon chili oil (optional, for a touch of heat)

Instructions

Prepare the Filling:

    - In a large mixing bowl, combine the peeled shrimp, ground pork, finely chopped green onions, minced ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, along with a pinch of salt and pepper.

      - Mix the ingredients together well until the filling is cohesive and evenly blended.

        Assemble the Wontons:

          - On a clean, flat surface, take a wonton wrapper and place it down. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the filling into the center of the wrapper.

            - Lightly moisten the edges of the wrapper with water using your fingertip. Fold the wrapper in half over the filling to form a triangle.

              - Press down around the filling to seal it tightly, ensuring no air is trapped inside. For an elegant touch, you can bring the two corners of the triangle together and pinch them to create a decorative shape. Repeat this process until all the filling has been used.

                Prepare the Broth:

                  - In a large pot over medium heat, add a small amount of oil. Once hot, sauté the minced ginger and garlic until aromatic, approximately 1 minute.

                    - Gradually pour in the chicken or vegetable broth, oyster sauce, and soy sauce. Stir the mixture and bring it to a gentle simmer.

                      Cook the Wontons:

                        - When the broth is simmering, gently add the prepared wontons to the pot. They will initially sink to the bottom, but will rise to the surface as they cook, which should take about 5-7 minutes.

                          - During the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the chopped bok choy to the pot to soften slightly.

                            Serve:

                              - Use a ladle to serve the wontons and bok choy into individual bowls. Generously pour the steaming broth over the top.

                                - Garnish each bowl with sliced green onions and freshly chopped cilantro. If you enjoy a bit of heat, drizzle chili oil over the soup before serving.
