Ingredients

For the Tuna Tacos:

2 fresh tuna steaks (approximately 6 oz each)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

4 corn tortillas

1 ripe avocado, thinly sliced

Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

For the Strawberry Slaw:

1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and thinly sliced

2 cups green cabbage, finely shredded

1 small red onion, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Strawberry Slaw:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the thinly sliced strawberries, shredded green cabbage, and red onion. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the honey, apple cider vinegar, fresh lime juice, salt, and pepper until well combined. Pour this dressing over the cabbage mixture, tossing gently to coat. Allow the slaw to sit for 15-20 minutes to let the flavors develop and mingle.

      Cook the Tuna:

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Season the tuna steaks generously with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Once the oil is hot, place the tuna steaks in the pan. Sear the tuna for about 2-3 minutes on each side for a medium-rare finish (adjust cooking time if you prefer a different doneness). Transfer the seared tuna to a cutting board and let it rest for a few moments.

          Warm the Tortillas:

Using the same skillet with residual heat, warm the corn tortillas individually for about 30 seconds on each side until they are soft and pliable.

              Assemble the Tacos:

Once rested, slice the cooked tuna into thin strips. Lay a few strips of tuna in each warm tortilla. Generously top with the strawberry slaw, add several slices of avocado, and finish with a sprinkle of fresh cilantro leaves for an aromatic garnish.

                  Serve:

Serve the tacos immediately while they're warm, accompanied by lime wedges on the side to squeeze over for an added zesty kick. Enjoy every delightful bite!
