Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

1 lb ground beef (or substitute with ground turkey for a lighter alternative)

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably seasoned for extra flavor)

1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

For the Honey Sriracha Sauce:

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup Sriracha sauce (adjust according to your preferred spice level)

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tsp minced ginger (optional, adds depth to the flavor)

1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening the sauce)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to preheat fully.

Prepare the Meatball Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef (or turkey), breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Using your hands or a spatula, mix the ingredients gently until just combined—be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.

Form the Meatballs: Using your hands, scoop out portions of the mixture and roll them into 1-inch meatballs. Place each meatball on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced evenly apart.

Bake the Meatballs: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and golden brown on the outside. You can check for doneness by slicing one in half – the inside should no longer be pink.

Make the Honey Sriracha Sauce: Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the honey, Sriracha sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and minced ginger (if using). Stir well to combine, then bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Thicken the Sauce (optional): If you prefer a thicker sauce, stir in the cornstarch slurry (the cornstarch mixed with water) and continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens to your liking. Once thickened, remove from heat.

Combine Meatballs and Sauce: Once the meatballs are fully cooked, transfer them to the saucepan with the honey Sriracha sauce. Gently toss the meatballs in the sauce until they are completely coated.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve the honey Sriracha meatballs warm. Consider garnishing with sesame seeds and additional chopped parsley or green onions for a fresh touch. These flavorful meatballs are perfect as an appetizer, served over rice, or tucked into a wrap for a delightful meal!
