Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (or turkey for a lighter option)

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1/4 cup finely chopped green onions (plus extra for garnish)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup honey

3 tablespoons sriracha sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Optional: sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). To ensure an easy cleanup, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Meatball Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef (or turkey), breadcrumbs, minced garlic, chopped green onions, egg, cilantro, and a generous pinch of salt and pepper. Stir gently until the ingredients are just mixed together—this will help keep the meatballs tender.

Shape the Meatballs: With your hands slightly dampened to prevent sticking, form the meat mixture into meatballs, roughly 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Arrange the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring there is space between each to allow for even cooking.

Bake the Meatballs: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes. Halfway through the baking time, carefully turn each meatball to achieve an evenly golden-brown exterior.

Make the Sauce: While the meatballs are baking, prepare the delicious honey sriracha sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the honey, sriracha sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally, and allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes, or until slightly thickened.

Glaze the Meatballs: When the meatballs are fully cooked—internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C)—remove them from the oven. In a large bowl, pour the warm honey sriracha sauce over the meatballs and gently toss them to ensure every meatball is beautifully coated with the sauce.

Serve and Garnish: Transfer the glazed meatballs onto a serving platter. For an elegant touch, sprinkle sesame seeds and extra chopped green onions or cilantro over the top. These meatballs can be served warm on toothpicks as an easy-to-eat appetizer or plated with rice and steamed vegetables for a hearty main course.
