3 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and diced

½ cup granulated sugar

1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper for easy removal of the bars later.

    Prepare the Crust and Topping: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix these dry ingredients until well combined. Pour in the melted butter and add the vanilla extract, mixing until the mixture forms a crumbly texture that holds together when pressed. Set aside 1 cup of this mixture to be used as the topping.
