Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)

1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed

1 tablespoon olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 lemon, juiced and zested

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon dried dill

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

4 thin lemon slices

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) to get it nice and hot while you prepare the ingredients.

Prepare the Foil: Cut four pieces of aluminum foil, each measuring about 12x18 inches. Lay them out flat on a clean work surface, ready for filling.

Make the Marinade: In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, smoked paprika, dried dill, salt, and pepper. Make sure the mixture is well combined to ensure even flavor distribution.

        Assemble the Packets:

          - For each piece of foil, create a bed of trimmed asparagus in the center. Arrange them evenly to provide a foundation for the salmon.

            - Place one salmon fillet atop the asparagus.

              - Drizzle a generous amount of the prepared olive oil mixture over both the salmon and asparagus, ensuring the fish is well coated.

                - Finish by placing a thin slice of lemon on top of each salmon fillet for added flavor!

Seal the Packets: Bring the longer edges of the foil up over the salmon and asparagus, folding them together to create a tight seal. Then fold in the shorter edges to completely enclose the food, allowing steam to build up inside for cooking.

Bake the Packets: Arrange the sealed foil packets on a baking sheet and slide them into the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon has transformed into a tender, flaky delight.

Serve and Enjoy: Carefully cut open the foil packets (be cautious of the hot steam!) and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve alongside a crisp side salad or your favorite grain for a balanced and satisfying meal.
