Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (skin on)

1 bunch of fresh asparagus, trimmed

1/4 cup honey

3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce

2 tablespoons minced garlic (approximately 6 cloves)

1 tablespoon olive oil, plus additional for asparagus

1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional, for enhanced flavor)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it’s ready for cooking.

Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, and sesame oil. Whisk these ingredients together until fully blended into a smooth marinade.

Season the Salmon: Transfer the salmon fillets into a large mixing bowl or a shallow dish. Pour half of the honey garlic mixture over the fillets, making sure they are well coated. Allow the salmon to marinate for about 15 minutes to enhance its flavor.

Arrange the Asparagus: While the salmon is marinating, prepare a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place the trimmed asparagus on one side of the sheet. Drizzle with a little olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Toss the asparagus gently to ensure even coating.

Add Salmon to the Baking Sheet: After marinating, carefully remove the salmon from the bowl and place the fillets onto the baking sheet next to the asparagus. Use the remaining honey garlic mixture to brush generously over the salmon fillets.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon turns opaque and flakes easily with a fork, and the asparagus is tender yet crisp.

Garnish: Once the dish is baked, take it out of the oven and sprinkle sesame seeds over both the salmon and asparagus. Finish with a dusting of freshly chopped herbs for an aromatic touch and vibrant presentation.

Serve: To serve, plate the salmon alongside the asparagus. Drizzle any leftover juices from the baking pan over the top for an extra burst of flavor. Enjoy your healthy, delicious one-pan meal!
