Ingredients

1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

3 cups broccoli florets

1 red bell pepper, sliced into thin strips

3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

Salt and pepper, to taste

Cooked rice or quinoa, for serving

Optional garnish: Sesame seeds and sliced green onions

Instructions

Marinate the Beef:

    - In a medium bowl, combine the thinly sliced flank steak with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix thoroughly to ensure each piece of beef is evenly coated. Cover the bowl and let the beef marinate for at least 15-20 minutes to absorb the flavors.

      Cook the Broccoli:

        - Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes, or until they are bright green and crisp-tender. Remove the broccoli from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

          Stir-Fry the Beef:

            - In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once the oil is shimmering, add the marinated beef in a single layer, working in batches if necessary to prevent overcrowding. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until the beef is browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside with the broccoli.

              Sauté the Aromatics:

                - In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds, stirring continuously, until they become fragrant. Be cautious not to burn the garlic.

                  Combine Ingredients:

                    - Return the cooked broccoli and beef to the skillet. Pour in the remaining tablespoon of soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Toss everything together, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as desired.

                      Serve:

                        - Serve the sizzling beef and broccoli over a bed of fluffy cooked rice or quinoa. For an added touch, sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top for garnish.

                            - Presentation Tips: For an appealing presentation, serve in a large shallow dish, allowing the vibrant colors of the broccoli and bell pepper to stand out against the beef. Consider using a sprinkle of extra sesame seeds and green onions for a pop of color.
