Ingredients

3 ripe bananas

1 cup dark chocolate chips (milk chocolate can be used for a sweeter treat)

2 tablespoons coconut oil (this adds a silky texture)

Assorted toppings: crushed nuts (like almonds or walnuts), shredded coconut, colorful sprinkles, or mini chocolate chips

Wooden popsicle sticks or skewers

Instructions

Prep the Bananas: Start by peeling the bananas and cutting each one in half crosswise. Carefully insert a wooden popsicle stick or skewer into the flat end of every banana piece. Arrange the banana halves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips with the coconut oil. Heat the mixture in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each interval. Continue this process until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth in texture.

Coat the Bananas: Take each coated banana half and dip it into the melted chocolate, ensuring an even coating. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing the chocolate-coated bananas back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Add Your Toppings: While the chocolate is still warm and wet, generously sprinkle your chosen toppings over the bananas. Get creative! Use a mix of crushed nuts, shredded coconut, dazzling sprinkles, or mini chocolate chips to add flavor and decoration.

Freeze: Carefully transfer the baking sheet to the freezer and let the banana pops freeze for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate has fully set and hardened.

Enjoy: Once frozen, gently remove the banana pops from the baking sheet. They can be enjoyed immediately or stored in an airtight container in the freezer for up to one month for a delightful treat anytime.
