Ingredients

1 lb chicken tenders (fresh or thawed)

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for a spicy kick)

Cooking spray or a drizzle of olive oil for added crispiness

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a large mixing bowl, pour the buttermilk over the chicken tenders, ensuring they are fully submerged for maximum flavor infusion. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for a minimum of 30 minutes and up to 2 hours, allowing the chicken to tenderize and absorb the delicious flavors.

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to preheat at 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray to prevent any sticking during baking.

Prepare the Breading Station: Create a breading assembly line with three shallow bowls:

        - First Bowl: Combine the all-purpose flour with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

          - Second Bowl: Pour in the remaining buttermilk from the marinating step.

            - Third Bowl: Mix together the Italian-style breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese until well combined.

              Bread the Chicken Tenders:

                - Take each chicken tender out of the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off.

                  - First, run the tender through the seasoned flour, coating it completely, and then gently shake off the excess flour.

                    - Dip the floured tender back into the buttermilk to create a wet surface, and finally, coat it thoroughly with the breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture. Be sure to press the crumbs onto the chicken to ensure they stick well. Repeat this for all the chicken tenders.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Lay the breaded chicken tenders in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they are spaced apart to ensure even cooking. Lightly spray the tops of the tenders with cooking spray or drizzle with a little olive oil for that extra crunch.

Bake the Tenders: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 18-22 minutes. Keep an eye out for a golden-brown color and check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). If you desire even more crispiness, turn on the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes, but watch closely to avoid burning.

Serve: Once they are perfectly cooked, take the tenders out of the oven and let them rest for a few minutes to cool slightly. Serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauces such as honey mustard, marinara, or creamy ranch for an added burst of flavor.

                            Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 40-50 minutes | Servings: 4

                              - Presentation Tips: Arrange the chicken tenders on a large platter lined with fresh parsley or arugula for a splash of color. Add small bowls of dipping sauces around the platter for an inviting presentation!
